Beethoven Triple Concerto for piano, violin and cello Op. 56
Mozart Symphony No. 41 K. 551 « Jupiter »

The Rotterdam orchestra that dazzled again a little while ago with Die Frau ohne Schatten, a lyrical treat, turned a new page in its history a year ago by appointing the young Israeli conductor Lahav Shani. Now in his thirties, he is one of the most sought-after conductors in the world. In the space of only a few years, he has been invited to conduct the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Staatskapelle Dresden, the Tonhalle Orchester Zürich, the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Manchester Hallé Orchestra, the Philadelphia Orchestra, and the London Philharmonia, to name but a few, while taking over from Yannick Nézet-Séguin in Rotterdam and Zubin Mehta as conductor of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. Not satisfied with being gifted at the baton, tonight he will demonstrate his keyboard skills by performing Beethoven's Triple Concerto with violinist Renaud Capuçon and cellist Kian Soltani before returning to the podium for Mozart's Jupiter Symphony.
