For its second edition, Dialogues promises a dreamy evening of Pas de deux by four choreographers who define both the present and the future of contemporary dance.
Mats Ek will open the evening with A Sort of, a burlesque reverie in which bodies engage in dialogue in a universe inspired by the work of Magritte. Between absurdity and delicacy, gravity and lightness, this ‘Pas de deux’ plays with contrasts and surprises, blurring reference points and challenging the conventions of classical ballet. With his unique technique combining kathak and contemporary dance, Akram Khan is now recognised as one of the most innovative choreographers on the international scene. After the emblematic success of Sacred Monsters, he revisits this legendary duet with Mud of Sorrow, a poetic journey between the visible and the invisible, a dialogue between past and present. With Couch, choreographer and prima ballerina Samantha Lynch offers an energetic and humorous piece that reflects her image. 2 dancers and a sofa - that's the choreographer's genius for making us feel the emotions linked to this indispensable accessory in our lives. Choreographer Sharon Eyal presents a new version of Into the Hairy, a piece that explores the nature of her feelings through instinctive, almost primitive dance combined with the highest technical standards. Mats Ek will close the evening with an extract from his latest creation, A Cup of Coffee, created for the Royal Swedish Opera Ballet in February 2025, with the incomparable Ana Laguna and Yvan Auzely!
