The second edition of Dialogues is a delightful evening of pas de deux for modern dance enthusiasts, with no fewer than four choreographers representing the elite of world dance, each with their own take on the human soul in all its richness and diversity of expression. Taking pride of place is elder statesman Mats Ek, who will open proceedings with A sort of…, a burlesque reverie in a Magritte-inspired world. This will be followed by Sacred Monsters, the legendary duet created by Akram Khan in 2008. He first performed it with Sylvie Guillem here at the Théâtre, showcasing this fascinating dialogue between feet and pointes. For this performance, soloists from the Royal Ballet of Flanders will be taking up the challenge. Choreographer Sharon Eyal and Gai Behar, a big name on the live music scene in Tel Aviv, will present Into the Hairy, a piece in which she delves even deeper into the nature of her feelings, as if, in her words, to "bare the skin of my soul". The finale will be the French premiere of the new ballet Couch, a comedic duet set to music by Bizet.
