    Prokofiev  Sonata No. 7

He launched his career in Paris on this very stage in January 2022, shortly after winning the International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw. He returned a year later with his teacher and friend Dang Thai Son. Now Bruce Liu is back for a major concert of Russian music moving from the poetic nostalgia of Tchaikovsky’s Seasons, to the fireworks of Prokofiev’s Sonata No. 7 via Scriabin’s Sonata No. 4, which the composer described as “man’s ascent to the stars, a symbol of happiness.
