Acclaimed at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées at the end of 2018 in a baroque programme, Pretty Yende returns to the capital's audience, this time in the company of Benjamin Bernheim. It's a good thing: their already legendary duet has been awarded the 2019 Forum Opéra Trophies, jointly designating them Artists of the Year following their very striking performance of La Traviata at the Paris Opera. They renewed the magic of their duet recently in Manon with the same success. The young South African soprano has also won over the audience as Norina in Don Pasquale; the French tenor, for his part, has taken on a series of roles throughout the season and has released his first solo album featuring excerpts from Italian, Russian and French operas. Let's bet that their first joint appearance for a recital with orchestra will be yet another success.
