Wagner Wesendonck-Lieder
Franck Symphony in D minor

We all know the talent and sensitivity of Anja Harteros in the art of orchestral lied, including the famous Wesendonck-Lieder, which defy the law of the genre by soliciting both the voice and a necessary interiority, giving these five short poems a quality like no other. A different universe to that of the only symphony composed by César Franck in 1889, a year before his death. And yet it is not without evoking Wagner through a form of cyclical composition, even though at that time it was the custom in France to be patriotic and therefore to loathe Germanic art. We are indeed in the presence of a powerful and original piece, composed of the most contrasting climates and poetically radiant.
