The Sicilian Eleonora Abbagnato has two loves: the Paris Opera Ballet, where she was the first Italian to be crowned Star and where she danced the most beautiful roles of her career, and the Teatro Dell'Opera Di Roma, which she now directs. The fairy tale begins for her at the age of five thanks to one of the family's neighbours who runs a dance school. Six years later, it was a decisive meeting with Roland Petit who chose her to embody Aurora as a child in his version of Sleeping Beauty, before supporting her to enroll in the Grail for any young dancer, the Dance School of the Paris Opera Ballet. Roland Petit always, since it was at the end of a performance of her Carmen where she played the title role that night that she was named Star in 2013. An elegant performer with a sharp technique in the classical repertoire as well as in the modern and contemporary repertoire (Neumeier, Roland Petit, Pina Bausch, Kylian, Forsythe, Preljocaj, Mats Ek, to name but a few), she has directed the Teatro Dell'Opera Di Roma for five years now, where she has initiated a policy of invitation to the finest European choreographers. For this performance presented for the first time in Paris, she will dance each of the 4 seasons in a choreography signed Giuliano Peparini, ex- Principal dancer of the Ballet national de Marseille and Roland Petit assistant.
