About

In October 2019,  Alexandra Dovgan performed her first Parisian concert here at the tender age of twelve. Audiences initially came to hear a phenomenon, doubtless curious about the pianist’s youth and drawn by Grigory Sokolov’s endorsement. Now that their curiosity has been satisfied, Sunday morning music lovers are delighted to be able to follow the development of her repertoire from one season to the next. Beethoven is the bedrock of this repertoire. Although the Pathétique featured in her debut performance here, the Russian pianist is now setting her sights even higher, opening with Opus 110, Piano sonata No. 31, which is the absolute pinnacle of musical writing.
