Mozart Concerto for violin No. 5 K. 219
Clyne Sound and Fury
Haydn Symphony No. 88 Hob. I:88
As a violinist sought after by the most famous institutions, such as the venerable BBC Proms, and an artist and partner working with several orchestras in Europe and the United States, Finnish composer Pekka Kuusisto can often be found at the helm of the Tapiola Sinfonietta and has just been appointed conductor of the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra. For this Paris concert as performer/conductor, he has designed a programme full of many rich inspirations, reflecting his discerning and eclectic approach. A late symphony by Haydn which inspired the young Brahms and Mozart, the ultra-famous concerto for violin by Mozart known as the “Turkish”, and Sound and Fury by the British composer Anna Clyne, premiered in 2019, and designed as “a journey that is both invigorating and serene and reflective”.
